Set up Brea on Telegram
- Go to app.brea.ai and open Messaging.
- On the Telegram card, click Connect, then Start Connection.
- Click Open Telegram. The link opens Brea’s setup bot in Telegram.
- Tap Create Telegram Bot and follow Telegram’s prompts. This creates a private bot that only you can message.
- The new bot sends you a message when it starts connecting. Wait about a minute, then send it a message.
The dashboard shows the Telegram card as Connected with your bot’s username. Message that bot whenever you want to reach Brea.
If you’re setting up on a computer
Section titled “If you’re setting up on a computer”Telegram is usually on your phone, so at step 3 you can have Brea text you the link instead of opening it on your computer:
- Click Text Link to Me.
- Enter your phone number.
- Tick the box agreeing to receive the text, then click Yes, text me the link.
- Open the link from the text on your phone, then carry on from step 4 above.
You get one text per request. Standard message rates apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to opt out.
This option only shows on computers. On a phone or tablet, use Open Telegram.
Use a bot you already have
Section titled “Use a bot you already have”If you already created a bot with BotFather:
- In the connect dialog, click I already have a bot token.
- On the Verify your Telegram identity screen, click Verify in Telegram. This opens Brea’s setup bot and confirms which Telegram account is allowed to message your bot.
- Come back to the dashboard. It waits for the verification, then shows the token field on its own.
- Paste the token from BotFather into the Bot token field and click Connect.
Disconnect Telegram
Section titled “Disconnect Telegram”On the Telegram card, click More, then Disconnect. You can reconnect later.
